Our department embraces a broad spectrum of pharmaceutical life sciences modules for the Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) programme including Anatomy and Physiology, Fundamentals of Pharmacology, Microbiology, Biochemistry and Immunology. The department also coordinate and teach pharmacology components of several pharmacotherapy modules of various organs and systems. We aim to provide students with the necessary fundamental knowledge and the essential framework for understanding clinical knowledge and provision of pharmaceutical care in community and hospital settings. To date, there are 5 academics in the department with a breadth of expertise in the area of life sciences. Our research areas are largely focused on molecular pharmacology, pharmaceutical biotechnology and pharmacogenomics.
