ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

Registration does not require an immediate payment. However, please note that all submitted abstracts will be discarded if payment is not received by 30 November 2022.

The abstract submission deadline is 31 October 2022. The Scientific Committee will review the abstracts for inclusion in the scientific programme in  the following formats:

  1. Rapid Oral Video Presentation: A 3-minute video presentation which will be displayed throughout the meeting with ample opportunity for discussion 
  2. Oral Presentation: Top abstracts of rapid oral video presentation will be selected to be presented as full oral communication during the symposium.


Best Oral Presenter Award
The oral presentation will be evaluated by a panel of judges to be considered for best oral presenter award. 

Young Investigators Award
IMPRES 2022 will also  organise a special session called the Young Investigators Session.  Rapid oral video presentations considered for the Young Investigators Session will be evaluated by a panel of judges prior to a 5 minute Q&A session during the symposium for best Young Investigators Award.

Eligibility Criteria for Young Investigators Session:

  • No more than 40 years of age at the time of the conference
  • Current postgraduate student OR
  • Post Doctorate/Academics (no more than 2 years after conferment of PhD).


People’s Choice Award
The most liked rapid oral video presentation by IMPRES2022 participants will be considered for the People’s Choice Award


Guideline for Abstract Submission

Instruction for authors:
Each participant is limited to ONE paper as the presenting author but may co-author other papers.

  1. Abstract must be in English and not exceed 250 words (exclude authors and keywords)
  2. Abstract body should be single-spaced, in Arial font size 11.
  3. Abstract should be submitted in Microsoft word .doc or .docx format.  
  4. Abstract should consist of a title (bold), full name of author(s), affiliation of author(s), and body of abstract.
  5. Presenting author’s name should be in bold.
  6. Corresponding author should be indicated with an asterisk (*) and email provided.
  7. Provide up to 5 keywords.

                           
Incorrectly formatted submissions or those requiring English editing will be returned to the submitting author for amendments prior to acceptance. The major aspects of the entire abstract in a prescribed sequence with the title which includes:

  • Introduction/Background with the overall purpose of the study and the research problem(s)            
  • Methodology
  • Results                            
  • Discussion and conclusion

Guideline for Rapid Oral Video Presentation:
Upon the acceptance of abstract, participants are required to upload a Rapid Oral Video Presentation by 15th November 2022

  1. Presentation Style: Please use maximum 1 slide for presentation content. Rapid Orals typically highlight significant preliminary findings or offer a summary of research findings.

      Slides Criteria

  • The presentation slides must be in English.
  •  Please include the Abstract ID, study title, presenting author with the affiliation and corresponding email in the presentation slide.
  • Presentation slide must include: Introduction, Methods, Results and Discussion/Conclusion
  • All information submitted is the sole responsibility of the author(s). Please note that the review committee will not be held accountable for technical or grammatical errors

2. Please insert a 3-minute audio and video of yourself narrating your 1-page slide. Your talk must be prepared as a file that includes both your slides AND the audio within the same document. Presentations which exceed the given time limit will not be accepted. 

3. Please save the file as a video (MP4) file. You may use any tools or software to produce the video  (MP4) file. 

4. The rapid oral video presentation will be displayed throughout the meeting with ample opportunity for discussion.
